Jasper Police Tallies 68 Citations During Seat Belt Enforcement Operation

 During the enforcement campaign, the Jasper Police Department worked 33 hours of overtime traffic enforcement. During this period, JPD made 83 traffic stops, issued 38 written warnings, issued 68 traffic citations and made seven criminal arrests(O.W.I., Driving While Suspended/Habitual Traffic Violator X3, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia, and Warrant Served) during the traffic- enforcement mobilization.

Attorney General Todd Rokita: Thousands of Hoosiers will soon receive major relief following $550 million settlement with largest U.S. subprime auto financing company

As part of Indiana’s share of the settlement, more than 5,000 affected Hoosiers are receiving direct restitution totaling more than $1.3 million. Additionally, $14.1 million in abusive, low-cost loans administered by Santander have been waived or forgiven for 1,515 Hoosiers. The State of Indiana also received $30,000 in civil penalties.
