Jasper High School Principal Brian Wilson Leaving After Nine Years
Principal Wilson first made the announcement to students, parents, and faculty in an email.
"It's been a wonderful nine years serving in Jasper," Wilson said. "I've always felt supported by the students and the staff and the community. It's a great place to work, it's a great place to live, and I'll miss it tremendously."
Wilson has accepted a position near Jacksonville, Florida, after the opportunity recently cropped up.
In a statement to WITZ's Kris Norton, Wilson said:
"My wife and I had been looking at the possibility of exploring Florida as maybe a place where I finish my career. We've vacationed there for decades and we really like going to the East Coast of Florida. So, I had not done a lot of applying or interviewing down there but had kind of selectively done so. (An) Opportunity just came up here very recently in a school district, in an area, where we were interested in. And so it felt like the time was right."
