Wayne Joseph Armstrong, 73, of Loogootee

He was born November 14, 1945 in Washington, Indiana to the late Paul “Jack” and Adeline “Belle” (Blines) Armstrong. Wayne was a former member of the Carpenters Union, Washington Moose Lodge and the Washington Conservation Club. Wayne loved hunting, fishing, gardening and woodworking. He was an Air Force veteran and served his country overseas during the Vietnam War. 

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Paul “Jack” and Adeline “Belle” (Blines) Armstrong; siblings, Judy Gehrig and David Armstrong. He is survived by his wife, Gianna Armstrong of Loogootee; children, Brandon Armstrong, Taiya Armstrong, both of Loogootee, Jane (Rick) Seidel of Washington, Jennifer Armstrong of Virginia, Joe (Teresa) Armstrong of Washington; grandchildren, Tyler, Dylan and Madison Seidel, Hazel Rodimel and Reese and Kennedi Armstrong; great-grandson, Lynix Seidel; sisters, Dianna (Alvin) Neidigh and Cindy (Nick) Walton; numerous nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2019 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, September 6, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Down Syndrome Indiana in honor of Griffin Gee.
