Wanda Mae Bradley, 84, of Loogootee

Wanda Mae Bradley, 84, of Loogootee passed away on Friday February 25, 2022, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center with her family by her side.

She was born on February 13, 1938, in Martin County, IN to John and Pauline (Wyman) Taylor. Wanda was a 1956 graduate of St. John’s Catholic High School. She stayed close with her classmates and was on the planning committee for reunions.  She married Jerry Bradley on November 10, 1956.

Wanda was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, she sang in the choir, was a Eucharistic Minister, and helped arrange flowers in the sanctuary. She was a member of the Daughter’s of Isabella, and was a participant and helped with planning the Christ Renews his Parish Retreat. She always had a positive attitude, was strong in her faith, and prayed for everyone she knew.

Wanda and Jerry enjoyed visiting the French Lick Casino and watching horse races. They loved to take walks together, fish, and mushroom hunt. Jerry was a great conversationalist and Wanda was a patient listener.

She worked various jobs cleaning local businesses, a stylist at Laurie’s Flowers, RCA, and Textile. Wanda loved to work in her flower garden, paint, play cards, and was a talented seamstress that was known to fix anything! After they were first married Wanda and Jerry managed a local hometown diner called “Sandwich Haven”.

Wanda was known as the social butterfly of the nursing home. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family, Grandchildren, and Great- Grandchildren and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Wanda is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry “Foxie” Bradley, who passed away on September 22, 2014, and her parents, John and Pauline Taylor.

She is survived by her children, Martin Joseph (Mary) Bradley of Loogootee, Robert (Diana) Bradley of Raglesville, IN, Brian (Heather) Bradley of Clanton, AL, her grandchildren, Brett (Lexi Geiger) Bradley of Celestine, IN, Jason (Amber) Bradley of Indianapolis, IN, Stephen (Tara) Bradley of Bloomington, IN, Ashley (Zach) Albin of Bloomington, IN, Matt Bradley Newburgh, IN, Max (Aby) Bradley of New Albany, IN, Tori (Justin) Quick of Indianapolis, IN , Jon Bradley of Indianapolis, IN, her Great- Grandchildren, Addalyn Bradley, Jayven Bradley, Colter Speedy of Celestine, IN, Amelia Bradley of Bloomington, IN, Lillian Bradley of Newburgh, IN, Ryleigh and Ella Quick of Indianapolis, IN, her brother Donald (Nita) Taylor of Loogootee, IN, her sister, Wanita (Earl) Bennet of Indianapolis, IN and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday March 1, 2022, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee, In. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery in Loogootee, In.

Visitation will be held on Monday February 28, 2022, from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee, IN.
