Vonnie Richard Buffington, age 90, of Poland

Vonnie Richard Buffington, age 90, of Poland, Indiana entered into eternal rest on March 12th, 2022 at Hospice House, Bloomington, Indiana.

He was born on October 26th, 1931 in West Baden Springs, Indiana to Chester C. and Olive Lean (Owen) Buffington.

Vonnie married Elizabeth Abel on August 14th, 1953 and she survives.

He was preceded in death by his Parents; (1) Daughter – Peggy Lee Ortel; and (20) Brothers and Sisters.

Vonnie had worked in the sewer construction business, maintenance at Ben Davis High School where he retired, and was a member of Free Methodist Church in Indianapolis.

He enjoyed mowing, watching birds (especially hummingbirds), helping at food pantries and fixing things. Vonnie never met a stranger and would give you the shirt off his back.

He is survived by:

Wife - Elizabeth Buffington of Poland, Indiana

(1) Son-  Douglas R. Buffington of  Indianapolis, Indiana

(2) Daughters - Deborah J. Martin of Plainfield, Indiana
                          Lisa G. Langdon of Poland, Indiana

(1) Brother - Terry Buffington of Mitchell, Indiana
            
(2) Sisters - Wanda Tedrow of Shoals, Indiana
                   Sharon Qualkenbush of Mitchell, Indiana

(7) Grandchildren     (9) Great-Grandchildren

FUNERAL CEREMONY
A Funeral Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, March 16th, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home with burial to follow at Highland Chapel Cemetery.

VISITATION
Visitation for friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
