Urban J. Dischinger Jr., age 95, of Jasper

Urban J. Dischinger Jr., age 95, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 11:21 a.m. on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

Urban was born in Louisville, Kentucky on July 23, 1927, to Urban J. Dischinger Sr. He married Frances A. Eckerle Hauser on February 14, 1969. She preceded him in death on August 29, 2009. 

He was a Jasper High School graduate. 

He retired from Indiana Desk Furniture as an office worker.  

He was a United States Army Veteran and served in the Korea War.  

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. 

Urban enjoyed bowling, Jasper High School baseball and the St. Louis Cardinals. 

He is survived by; one son; Gregg (Kristi) Dischinger, four grandchildren; Darian, Madison, Makenna, and Alex Dischinger, one brother; Ronald (Margie) Dischinger.  

He is preceded in death by his wife.

A Mass of Christian burial for Urban J. Dischinger Jr. will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2022, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper, Indiana. The VFW Post #673 will conduct military graveside rites.  

A visitation will be held before the service on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church (Kundeck Hall) in Jasper.
