Terry Shawn Truelove, 70, of Loogootee

Shawn was born February 26, 1952, in French Lick, Indiana to Opal (Chastain) Tucker. He married Debbie Sumner on September 7, 1974, and she survives. 

Shawn was a 1970 graduate of Springs Valley High School. He retired from Kimball International after many years of faithful employment. Shawn was a former Loogootee Little League coach and previously was a member of the Board of Directors. He loved Indiana University basketball and the Atlanta Braves. 

Shawn cherished spending time with his grandchildren, Hudson and Ellistyn. He owned and operated Shawn’s Lawnmowing Service and you could often find him on his lawnmower, mowing one of his 60 lawns and 9 cemeteries. 

Shawn was preceded in death by his mother, Opal Tucker; brother, Joe Truelove; and a special aunt and uncle, Harry and Lottie Chastain, who helped raise Shawn. 

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Truelove of Loogootee; son, Cameron (Krista) Truelove of Loogootee; grandchildren, Hudson and Ellistyn Truelove; brother, Keith (Lisa) Truelove of Greenwood; close family friend, Jeremy Wildman; and Little Bit, the cat. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.

 Burial will follow in the Crystal Community Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, May 20, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
