Steven David Hayes, age 71, of Huntingburg

He was born October 22, 1950, in Huntingburg, to Jack and Mary Lou (Bredemeier) Hayes. While attending Southridge High School, he and Bob Phillips would play Taps for the Huntingburg V.F.W. Memorial Detail. Steve graduated from Oakland City University with a major in music. He was a Yeoman 1 st Class in the Unites States Navy, where he worked in the administration department for 26 ½ years. Steve had served as a Deputy Coroner for the Warrick County Coroners Department for 7 years. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his faithful companion, Spatz; and an infant sister, Patricia Hayes. 

He is survived by one sister, Lori (Angela) Hayes of Evansville; and close friends, Pam and Allen Fritz and Bob Phillips, all of Huntingburg. 

Funeral services for Steven David Hayes will be held at 2:00 p.m., E.D.T., Friday, October 29, 2021, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery. 

Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Huntingburg V.F.W. post #2366 Memorial Detail and the United States Navy Honor Guard.
