Shirley was born in Jasper, Indiana on August 20, 1935 to Johann Christopher and Laura Anna Katherina (Himsel) Harder. She married Delmar R. Street on August 28, 1956 in Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville, IN. He preceded her in death on June 6, 2004.
Shirley was a farmer, gardener, and helped prepare many meals for Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville.
She was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville and Women of Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.
She enjoyed bowling, camping, gardening, dancing, and spending time with her friends and family.
Surviving are one daughter; Gail Matheis of Haysville, IN, one son; Steve Street of Haysville, IN, five grandchildren; Jayme, Brandon, and Kristi Street, Jeremy Matheis and Logan Matheis; one great-grandson; Sebastian Street; two great-granddaughters, Lilliana Knight and Isabella Griffith.
Preceding her in death besides her husband were one sister, Ilma Neukam and one brother, Nelson Harder.
Funeral Services for Shirley A. Street will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana with burial to follow in Haysville Community Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at Christ Lutheran Church on Thursday.
