Ruth Elaine Tow, 74, of Loogootee

Ruth Elaine Tow, 74, of Loogootee, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at her residence.

Born November 23, 1948, in Shoals, she was the daughter of Vergil and Alma Ruth (Jones) Tow.

Ruth graduated from Shoals High School with the class of 1966 and retired from NSWC Crane where she worked for over 25 years.

She enjoyed pets, wrote poetry, crossword puzzles, politics, tried to like football, the color purple, spending time with her family, and adored her grandson.

Surviving are her son, Brandon (Lucy) Grimes; grandson, Rodney Grimes; siblings, Cookie (Roger) Taylor and John Bruce Tow; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ronnie Tow; sister, Vivian Gwyn Swartzentruber; niece, Tonya Taylor; and nephew, Jonathan Tow.

Funeral service will be at 10 A.M. on Friday, September 1, 2023, at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care with Stan Day officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. on Thursday at the Queen-Lee Chapel.
