Roy G. Raney, age 75, of Jasper

Roy G. Raney, age 75, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 12:38 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2022.  

Roy was born on September 22, 1946 to Henry L. and Edith I. (Harris) Raney. He married Ethel M. Haycox on July 1, 1967. She preceded him in death on August 30, 2016. 

Roy was a lifelong factory worker and retired from North American Saws.  

He was a volunteer firefighter for Alfordsville Fire Department where he was chief for several years. He then served on their firefighter board.  

Roy enjoyed life. He loved exercising, dancing, music and visiting the VUJC arts campus. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandsons and visiting with his friends at “the Station.”  

He is survived by one son; Jeff (Elizabeth) Raney, Alfordsville, IN, two grandsons; Nicholas and Zachary Raney.  

He is preceded in death by his wife, one sister; Linda Schaeffer and one brother; Gary Raney. 

A funeral service for Roy G. Raney will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, Indiana. A burial will follow in Portersville Cemetery. Pastor Alfred Helms will officiate.  

A visitation will be held at 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Becher-Kluesner North Chapel on Monday, August 8, 2022 and one hour before service time on Tuesday, August 9.
