Ronald Calvin Ellis, 79, of Birdseye

Ronald Calvin Ellis, 79, of Birdseye, passed away Friday, November 8, 2019, at his residence.

He was born November 9, 1939, in Indianapolis, to Russell T. Ellis and Beulah Jean Calvin.  Ron worked as a plumber and truck driver.  He was a longtime member of ABATE.  Ron loved to ride motorcycles, garden, hunt, fish and take care of his animals.  He was preceded in death by one son, Danny Ellis.

Ron is survived by his wife, Karen Ellis of Birdseye; four children,  Jerry (Rosemary) Ellis of Coral Springs, Florida, Michael (Janet ) Ellis of Mooresville, Christina (Glenn) Dallmann of New Castle, and Dawn (Tim) Powell of Plainfield; three siblings, Linda McCumber of Florida, Gary (Rita) Ellis of Indianapolis, and Sheron (Robert) Arnold of Indianapolis; by (12) grandchildren and (16) great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., E.S.T., Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Mentor Cemetery.  Rev. Ron Hickman will officiate.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., Tuesday. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
