Raymond J. Lange, 89 of Huntingburg
Raymond J. Lange, 89 of Huntingburg, passed away on Sunday, August 11th at his home.
Raymond was born May 28, 1930 in St. Henry to Clem F. Lange Sr. and Clara (Brinkman) Lange. He married Dorothy Fuhs on June 4, 1957 in St. Joseph Church in Jasper. Raymond was a retired truck driver for Best Chairs and also a farmer. He also drove truck for Eck Trucking. Raymond was an army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of Ferdinand American Legion Post 124 for 59 years. Raymond was a lifelong member of St. Henry Church, and was a past president of St. Vincent Depaul Society. He and his wife Dorothy were recipients of the Simon Brute’ Award.
He belonged to the Early Days Antique Club and the National Rifle Association. Raymond enjoyed gardening and restoring antique tractors.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Lange of Huntingburg; three sons, Mike (Brenda) Lange of St. Meinrad, Jerry (Glenda) Lange of Schnellville and Tom (Valerie) Lange of Santa Claus; three daughters, Christie (Pat) Kramer of Holland, Margaret (Pat) Fleming and Angie Recker all of Huntingburg;, Angie one brother Clem (Mary C.) Lange of Huntingburg; three sisters, Virginia “Gin” Johanneman of Ferdinand, Fran (Ron) Jerger of Huntingburg and Mary (Jim) Treat of Santa Claus; brother in-law, Lee Tempel of Dale and a sister in law, Martha Lange of Huntingburg; twenty-two grandchildren; eighteen greatgrandchildren.
Raymond was preceded in death by a grandchild, Chris Klueh; two great-grandchildren in infancy; two brothers, Arnie and Vic Lange; two sisters, Edna Tempel, and Irene Lange in infancy, a brother in law Albert Johanneman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 17th at 10:00 AM in Christ the King Parish, St. Henry Church.
Visitation will be Friday from 2-8:00 PM in St. Henry Church and also on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of services. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Ferdinand American Legion Post 124 will conduct military graveside rights.
