Patrick E. Arnold, 80 of Santa Claus

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Patrick Arnold. Patrick was born in Mariah Hill, Indiana, on September 12, 1943 to Walter and Josephine (Stallman) Arnold. Patrick led a life of remarkable achievement and service, leaving an indelible impact on his community.

Patrick's early years were marked by a standout high school career at Dale High School, where his talents on the basketball court earned him a scholarship to Oakland City College in 1961. He graduated in the class of 1965, having made significant contributions to the Mighty Oaks as both a basketball and baseball player. Unfortunately, his senior basketball season was cut short due to a foot injury during a game.

Following his graduation, Patrick dedicated himself to education and coaching. He began his teaching career at Holland High School, where he also coached basketball and other sports. In 1969, he returned to his alma mater, Dale High School, and later transitioned to Heritage Hills High School, where he continued to teach and coach until 1977. During this time, he furthered his education, earning a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Evansville in 1971.

Patrick's entrepreneurial spirit led him to found Key Associates, a real estate and development office in Santa Claus, Indiana, in 1977. He successfully ran the business until 2008, after which he ventured into the hospitality industry by founding Santa’s Cottages, one of Indiana’s top-rated resorts.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Patrick was inducted into the Hall of Fame at Oakland City College in 2023, a testament to his lasting impact on the college's athletic program.

Beyond his professional achievements, Patrick was deeply committed to his community. He served as the vice president and president of the North Spencer School Board from 1982 to 1990 and was also a board member of the Dale Cabinet Company. His life was a testament to his dedication to education, community service, and entrepreneurship.

Patrick is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda (Hagedorn) Arnold; his three children, Kurt and Raschel Arnold, Klint and Lydia Arnold, and Kara and Matthew Hinshaw; and six cherished grandchildren, Maliya (10), Patrick (10), Gemma (11), Ari (11), Kate (16), and Luke (19). He is also survived by his brother, Tom Arnold of Tell City.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell and Roger Arnold. Patrick Arnold's legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him, as his life was truly a model of success and commitment to leaving a positive mark on the world. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the many lives he touched throughout his journey.

Services and burial will be private. Memorials may be made to the Town Of Santa Claus.
