Patricia D. Daily, 95, of Loogootee
Patricia D. Daily, 95, of Loogootee, passed away at 4:21 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2022
at The Villages of Oak Ridge in Washington.
She was born October 15, 1926 in Ft. Myers, Florida to the late John and Regina
(Williams) McEvilly. Patricia married William Michael Daily Jr. on May 26, 1951 and he
preceded her in death on June 4, 2005.
Patricia was a graduate of the St. Vincent School of Nursing. She was a member of the
St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Daughters of American Revolution, Tri Kappa,
Hicks N Chicks Square Dancing Club, and was the Fort Myers Sunshine Baby in 1931.
She also was a former Girl Scout leader and a recipient of the Bruté Society Award. She
enjoyed playing bridge, spending time her dog, Rex, and eating oatmeal cream pies.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Annette McEvilly and Abie
Barth; and son-in-law, Jack Sanders.
Patricia is survived by her children, Christine Sanders of Montezuma, Stephanie (Tom)
McAtee of Loogootee, Lynn (Brad) Sterling of Lincolnton, Georgia, Mack (Sandy) Daily
of Round Lake Park, Illinois, Marcia (Greg) Lechner of Loveland, Ohio and Donna
(Greg) Kadlec of Blacksburg, Virginia; grandchildren, Jackie (Zach) Byland, Nicole
(Dustin) Thurston, TJ (Tracie) McAtee, Jeremy (Christina) Sterling, Dylan Sterling,
Grant (Rebecca) Sterling, Dali (Jake) Ivey, Jennifer (Kyle) O’Donnell, Laura Daily,
Miranda (Josh) Hinson, Dalton Daily, Ryan (Brooke) Lechner, Garrett Lechner, Brianna
Lechner, Kelly Kadlec, Robert Kadlec, Stephen Kadlec and Leigh Kadlec; 17 great-
grandchildren; and constant canine companion for 12 years, Rex.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022 at
St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee, officiated by Very Rev. J.
Kenneth Walker. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:15 a.m. at St.
John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Meals on Wheels, Martin
County Humane Society, or the Martin County Community Foundation.
The family would like to express gratitude to Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker, Fr. Leo
Kiesel and Rachel Doyle for their long-term friendship and support. And special thanks
to Dr. Poirier, Lydia, Marsha, Martha, the staff at The Villages of Oak Ridge, and Heart
to Heart Hospice for the care Pat received.
