Michael Albertson, 72, of Loogootee
Michael Albertson, 72, of Loogootee, passed away at 2:55 p.m. Thursday, November 21, 2019 at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis from complications caused by esophageal cancer.
He was born July 7, 1947 in Lafayette, Indiana to the late Andrew and Colleen (Mounce) Albertson.
Mike was a United States Navy veteran and navigated the USS Sequoia, the presidential yacht during President Nixon’s administration.
He enjoyed playing golf, watching football and frequenting the local casinos. He volunteered at the American Legion Post 120 and helped account for the payroll. He served on the Martin-Daviess County Park Board.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Colleen Albertson and sister-in-law, Heidy Albertson.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Laura (Northover) Albertson; daughters, Carrie Albertson and partner, Donald Humbert, Brooke Albertson and Kelly (Adam) Ash; grandson, Treyton Baker; granddaughter, Teagan Ash; brother, Robert Albertson; sister, Terry (Toby) Fitch; nephew, Bryce Fitch.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Blake Funeral Home Loogootee. Burial will follow in the Goodwill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee and Wednesday, November 27, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 120 in Loogootee, Indiana.
