Mary Louise Ohanian, age 94, of Ireland

Mary Louise Ohanian, age 94, of Ireland, Indiana, passed away at 4:13 p.m., on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

She was born July 3, 1925, in Webster County, Kentucky, to Thomas Cosby and Lilly Francis (Hawkins) Overby; and married Rev. Samuel Ohanian on November 19, 1946, at the Methodist Temple in Chicago, Illinois.  Mary worked as an instructional assistant and bus driver for the Dubois-Spencer-Perry Cooperative.  She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church in Jasper and the Gentryville Order of the Eastern Star.  Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Samuel Ohanian, who died on October 16, 1993; and four brothers, William Charlie Overby, Frankie B. Overby, Eugene Howard Overby and Jimmy Cornelius Overby.

She is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, Kathy Lou (Darrell) Higginbotham of Noblesville, Ind. and Lucinda (Greg) Schmitt of Ireland, Ind.; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Philip Stroud (Debra) Ohanian of Huntingburg, Ind. and Harry Eugene (Kathy) Ohanian of Marble Falls, Texas; one brother, Thomas Sherril (Dottie) Overby of Waukegan, Illinois; by (11) grandchildren and (13) great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mary Louise Ohanian will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Monday, August 26, 2019, at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Jasper with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg, Indiana.  Pastor Dan Sinkhorn will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for visitation at Shiloh United Methodist Church from 4:00-8:00 p.m., on Sunday; and also from 9:00-10:00 a.m., on Monday.  Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg has been entrusted with the arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be sent to Shiloh United Methodist Church for mission programs.
