Mary Louise Hartke, age 94, of Stendal

 Mary Louise (Roettger) Hartke was born May 18, 1926, in Stendal, the daughter of Walter and Clara (Siebe) Roettger. She graduated from Stendal High School in 1944 and was a homemaker. She married Oliver Hartke on April 12, 1946. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Dordon Nel and Dayne Kay. Her main love was her church, family and grandchildren. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Stendal, where she taught Sunday school for about ten years and taught bible school during the years her sons were growing up. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oliver Hartke, who passed away June 23, 1974; one son, Dordon “Duke” Hartke; and one sister, Ruth Margaret Bailey. She is survived by one son, Dayne Kay (Bertha) Hartke of Stendal; her caregivers, Joe and Karen Thomas of Holland; and by six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren. uneral services for Mary Louise Hartke will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 9, 2021, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Stendal with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Ed Wicks will officiate the service. Friends may call for visitation at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., on Friday, the day of the service. Nass & Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with handling the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
