Mary Louise Abel, 92, of Shoals

Mary Louise Abel, 92, of Shoals passed away on August 6, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born on August 25, 1929 in Shoals, to Richard and Eva Frances (Johnson) Dwyer. She was a graduate of Shoals High School Class of 1947. Mary worked as a Homemaker. On June 26, 1949 she married Robert F. Abel.

Mary was a member of the St. John''s Lutheran Church, Loogootee. She loved quilting, reading, and spending time with her family. Mary loved cooking and her husband of 73 years, Robert. Mary''s kindness and smile will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Mary is survived by her husband, Robert; one daughter, Sheryl (Joe) Ogg, of Loogootee; 4 sons, Robert D. (Tish) Abel, of Martinsville, Anthony C. (Bobbie) Abel, of Dover Hill, David (Julia) Dwyer, of Destin, FL, and Daniel (Michelle) Dwyer, of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Justin (Nikki) Hayden, Aaron (Natalie) Hayden, Jade (Steve) Sharpe, Jordan (Natalie) Abel, Jennifer (Mike) Morrison, Joshua Brulla, Jalisa (Gregory) Fleitz, Jakob (Carmen) Dwyer, Gavin Dwyer, and Grant (Ellie) Dwyer; 20 great-grandchildren; one brother, Jack Dwyer, of Plainfield; and sister, Helen Sterns of Ft. Wayne, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Matthew Hayden; and sister, Virginia Craney.

Cremation was chosen and no services will be held. Burial will be at Spring Hill Cemetery at a later date.
