Marjorie A. "Marge" Kalb, age 87 of Dubois
Marjorie A. "Marge" Kalb, age 87 of Dubois, Indiana, passed away at 10:15 pm on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand, IN.
Marge was born in Dubois, Indiana on July 26, 1933 to Edward and Emma (Thimling) Schott. She married Rufus A. Kalb on January 7, 1950 in Trinity United Church of Christ in Jasper, Indiana. He preceded her in death on May 26, 2005.
She was a homemaker and worked on poultry farms for many years, and also worked part time for the Dubois Water Utilities.
Marge was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Jasper, she was also a previous member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Dubois, where she taught Sunday school for many years and served as a council president and other leadership roles.
She was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #77 Auxiliary, where she served as a past commander. She served as a past president, secretary, and treasurer of the Dubois County Extension Homemakers.
She was a seamstress and enjoyed crafts and crocheting, fishing, gardening, IU Basketball, and spending time with her family, especially attending her grandchildren's sporting events.
Surviving are three daughters; Susan Neukam (Dennis), Jasper, Patricia Seng (Nicholas), Jasper, and Lorie Hubbs (Larry), Dubois, seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, one sister; Mary Lou Zehr, Dubois, one brother; John Schott, Dubois, one step-brother; Clarence Ruckriegel, one step-sister; Dorothy McNeely, and nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death beside her husband were her parents, step-mother; Esther Ruckriegel-Schott, two sisters; Shirley Humbert, and Judy Denu, one brother who died in infancy; David Schott, one son-in-law; Ken Hulsman, and two step-brothers; Alfred and Robert Ruckriegel,.
Funeral services for Marjorie A. "Marge" Kalb will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday June 28, 2021, at Trinity United Church of Christ in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow at St. Peter's United Church of Christ Cemetery in Dubois, Indiana. Pastor Jane Hillman will officiate.
A visitation will be held from Noon until the 2:00 p.m. service time at the church on Monday.
