Margaret "Marge" H. Jahn, age 78, of Jasper
Margaret "Marge" H. Jahn, age 78, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 9:08 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2019, in Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana.
Marge was born on the family farm in Dubois County, Indiana, on February 24, 1941, to John Michael "Mike" and Helen Mary (Hopf) Hohler. She married Robert "Bob" Joseph Jahn, her husband of over 52 years, on June 8, 1961, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana. He preceded her in death on March 24, 2013. She is the last survivor of a family of seven children.
Marge was a 1959 graduate of Jasper High School.
She retired from Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper where she was a Certified Dietary Manager and the Supervisor of Food and Nutrition Services for 55 years.
She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Jasper, where she was very active as a member of the St. Ann's Society, greeter, Eucharistic Minister, and bereavement meal volunteer. She was also a founding member and volunteer of the Dubois County Community Meal and a member of The Little Company of Mary Associates.
Surviving are one daughter, Jennifer J. Jahn, whom they adopted at birth, Jasper, Indiana; in-laws, Earlene Hohler, Jasper, Indiana; Doris Hohler, Celestine, Indiana; Darlene Jahn, and Larry and Jeannette Jahn, all of St. Anthony, Indiana; six godchildren, Jane (Burger) Beck, Evansville, Indiana; Mike Hohler, Celestine, Indiana; Bill Healy, Noblesville, Indiana; Todd Hentrup, Luann (Jahn) Brames, Danville, Indiana; and Andy Jahn, Ferdinand, Indiana; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death besides her husband are six siblings, Rita Healy, Armella Burger, Betty Jean, John, James, and Paul Hohler, and three brothers-in-law, Joe Healy, Victor Burger, and Ronnie Jahn.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret "Marge" H. Jahn will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2019, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with entombment to follow in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum in Jasper.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2019, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana.
