Linus R. Schnarr, age 79 of Ireland

Linus was born in Boone Township, Dubois County, Indiana on July 1, 1940 to Philip and Barbara (Baer) Schnarr.   He married his wife of 53 years, Sue Nigg on November 6, 1965 in St. John's Lutheran Church in Boone Township.  

He attended Boone Township grade school and graduated from Ireland High School in 1958.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served his country as a member of the 324th MP unit. 

Linus was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boone Township.  He was also a member of the Ireland Sportman Club and a 30 plus year member of the FOP.
He dedicated most of his life to farming and spent 33 years as a sales agent for Moorman’s Mfg./ADM Alliance Nutrition.  While in sales he supported 4-H in Dubois, Orange and Gibson Counties.  He enjoyed supporting 4-H participants and seeing them learn and succeed in their livestock entries.  He also enjoyed watching Cardinal baseball, IU basketball, playing cards, gardening and watching his grandchildren, Kylie and Caleb, participate in school and sporting events.

Linus is survived by his wife, Sue Schnarr, daughter Pam  Patterson (Aaron), Ireland; two grandchildren, Kylie and Caleb and a sister, Joan Bauer of Jasper.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Barbara Schnarr and one sister, Wilma Freyberger.
Funeral services for Linus R. Schnarr will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Boone Township, Dubois County, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.   Reverend Timothy Kraemer will officiate.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 2, 2019 at the Becher- Kluesner Northside Chapel in Jasper, and from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. service at the church on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or the Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center.
