Linus J. Kluemper, age 91, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, in the Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper, Indiana.
Linus was born in Jasper, Indiana, on May 5, 1929, to Bernard and Elizabeth (Miller) Kluemper. He married Bernice Hasenour on September 24, 1966, in Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana. She preceded him in death on January 4, 2009.
He was a past farmer and retired from the Dubois County Highway Department, where he was a trash truck operator for 15 years. After retirement he mowed grass for Sultan's Run Golf Course.
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, Jasper Moose #1175, Holy Name Society, Jasper K of C, Ireland Sportsman Club, and the Fraternal Order of Police.
He enjoyed being outdoors, especially mowing grass.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews, a few of which were his caretakers, Donna (Joe) Mehringer and Emil Rasche, and great nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death besides his wife, are two sisters, Catherine Rasche and Marie Sander, and two brothers, Tony and Ralph Kluemper.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Linus J. Kluemper will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2020, in Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with entombment to follow in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum in Jasper, Indiana.
A visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2020, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, and one hour before services from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the church on Saturday. Holy Family Parish will pray a rosary at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The Jasper Moose will have their ritual at 6:00 p.m. Masks and social distancing will be required.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or to the Dubois County Community Foundation c/o the Linus and Bernice Kluemper Endowment Fund.
