Leo R. Mullis, 91 of Ferdinand
Leo R. Mullis, 91 of Ferdinand passed away Monday June 1, 2020 at Willowdale Village in Dale.
Leo was born February 3, 1929 in Fulda to Emil & Cecelia (Jacob) Mullis. He was united in marriage to Rose M. Petry on July 28, 1956 in St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Leo was a retired dairy farmer. He was a 65 year member of St. Meinrad Legion Post 366 and was a Korean War Veteran. Leo was a member of Fulda Sportsman Club and The American Dairyman Association. He enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre, traveling, bird watching, tractors and farming. He enjoyed getting together with family and friends.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Rose M. Mullis of Ferdinand. Six sons, Gary Mullis, Stanley Mullis, Richard Mullis, Dean (Mary) Mullis all of Bristow, Leon Mullis and Allan Mullis both of Ferdinand. Three daughters, Diana (Richard) Cox and Charlene (Jay) Rickenbaugh both of Ferdinand and Rebecca (Junie) Miller of Santa Claus. 24 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Esther Klueh and Mary Ann Troesch. Three brothers, Joe (Mary Alice) Mullis of St. Meinrad, Oscar (Marilyn) Mullis of Bristow, and Leroy (Elaine) Mullis of Earlville IA. Sisters-in-law, Ruth Mullis of Ferdinand, Rose Mullis of Fulda, and Betty Mullis. He was preceded in death by a grand-daughter Beth Ann VanWinkle, Four brothers, Sylvester, Edgar, Othmar, and John Mullis and two brother-in-laws, Clarence Troesch and Bob Klueh.
Private services will be held Thursday at 3:00 PM at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Visitation will be from 12:30 until service time at the funeral home. Burial with military graveside services provided by St. Meinrad Legion Post 366 will follow in St. Meinrad Church Cemetery.
