Leo Neal Searl, 66, of Washington

Leo Neal Searl, 66, of Washington, Indiana, formerly of Loogootee, Indiana passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023 at his home after battling cancer and many other illnesses. He will be greatly missed by many family members and friends.

Leo was born on November 19, 1956, to Robert and Mary A. (O’Neal) Searl. Leo married Debbie Spears on March 25, 2000.

He enjoyed time with his family and friends and his 2 dogs Peanut & Chloe. He was raised in Loogootee, Indiana and graduated in 1974 from Loogootee High School.

He worked for Schwan’s and Kimball International for several years until he retired due to illness.

Leo was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He loved football, basketball, golf, and trivia.

He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Mary Searl, brothers, Jim, Phil, Bill Searl, and sisters, infant Marie Searl, Mary McLaughlin, father-in-law, Melvin Spears, sisters-in-law, Diane Spears, and Lisa Spears.

Left to cherish Leo’s memories is his wife Debbie of 23 years, his step-children, Melanie (Seth) Hinkle, Ashley (Danny) Salmon, Justin Fraley, Tyler (Jennifer) Kelley, 17 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, his mother-in-law, Carol Spears, his siblings, Mike Searl, Charlie (Debra) Searl, Tom Searl, Steve (Alana) Searl, Ed (Cathy) Searl, Rosanne (David) Lytle, sisters-in-law, Terri (Jerry) Maddox, Brenda Hoover, Cathy (Ed) Searl, brothers-in-law, Rick Mclaughlin, Leroy (Carrie) Spears, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members as well as many friends that Leo kept close to his heart.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 1st, 2023 at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee, Indiana. Burial will follow in Goodwill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 31st, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home and Tuesday, August 1st, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to the time of service at the funeral home.
