Larry Wayne Sparrow, age 85, of Huntingburg

Larry Wayne Sparrow, age 85, of Huntingburg, passed away at 5:35 a.m., on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at the Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper.

He was born January, 13, 1938, in Evansville, Indiana, to Kenneth Monroe and Mary (Berning) Sparrow.  He married Carolyn H. Buse on October 13, 1962, in Reno, Nevada.  Larry was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the Army for 23 years where he was a First Sergeant.  Following his career in the military, Larry worked as a metrologist until retiring in 2000.  He was an RC Flying enthusiast.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, W. Kenneth Sparrow. 

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn H. Sparrow of Jasper; two sons, Mark M. (Rebecca S.) Sparrow of Jasper and Michael W. (Carol J.) Sparrow of Cincinnati, Ohio; by three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services for Larry Sparrow will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Monday, July 24, 2023, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg.  Burial will follow at St James Cemetery in Holland with military graveside rites conducted by the V.F.W. Post 2366 Memorial Detail.
