Larry Alois Evans, 71, of Paoli

Larry Alois Evans, 71, of Paoli, died quietly Tuesday, August 23rd, 2022 at his home surrounded by loving family.

He was born April 1st, 1951, the youngest of nine children of the late Roy Moss Evans and Martha “Ellen” Temple Evans, well-known farmers in Washington and Orange Counties. He and his beloved wife Linda Joyce Wyman Cox were married on January 20th, 1996 at Red Quarry Christian Church in French Lick.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a daughter Stacy Donnell Cox Hughes; (4) Brothers - Harley Haskel, Gerald Lester (Rosalind), Dan Leland (Shirley) and Cletis Ray (Rebecca); and (3) Sisters - Ethel Grace Evans, Edna Juanita (John) Bagley, and Carol Faye (Thomas) Erwin.

Larry was a 1969 graduate of Orleans High School. In 1973 he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Agronomy from Purdue University. As the owner/operator of Evans Excavating for over 30 years, he was a respected businessman in Orange County. Larry accepted his Lord and Savior and was baptized on April 18th, 2014. His varied interests included aviation, exploring national parks, spelunking, boating and watching the Boston Celtics. His passion was working with the land and nature.

Surviving Larry is his loving wife Linda who dedicated herself to his daily care and comfort during his long illness. Also surviving are one sister Gladys Evans Regan of Bloomington, who will forever hold her baby brother in her heart; (4) Sisters-in-law - Shirley Lou Wilcox Evans Kielhorn (Bud) and Rebecca Mae Parish Evans both of Orleans, Gloria Allen (Doc) of West Baden Springs and Judy Hemmerlin (Amos) of Jasper; (1) Brother-in-law Gary Wyman (Brenda); Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

FUNERAL CEREMONY
A Funeral Ceremony will be conducted by Bro. Joe Crow and Rev. Bud Kielhorn on Friday, August 26th, 2022 
at 1:00 p.m. at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home with burial to follow at Mount Lebanon Cemetery.

VISITATION
Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, August 26th, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to either the Red Quarry Christian Church, 10908 West County Road 25 North, French Lick, Indiana 47432 or to Charlie’s Angels, 4380 South Old State Road 145, French Lick, Indiana 47432.
