Kristin R. Tarr, 60, of Paoli

Kristin R. Tarr, 60, of Paoli, Indiana entered into eternal rest on December 18th, 2023 at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

She was born in Paoli, Indiana on October 13th, 1963 to Gilbert Lee “Gib” and Jean Ann (Sekora) Hudson.

Kris married Damon Tarr on July 11th, 1998 and he survives. 

She was preceded in death by her Mother.

Kris was a 1982 graduate of Springs Valley High School and 1987 graduate of Indiana University with a B.S. in Elementary Education. She went on to receive two masters degrees from IU Southeast.

She was a member of Hillham CCCU where she was a former board member. She taught Elementary Education and was a Guidance Counselor at Springs Valley Community Schools for 36 years.  She was previously on Orange County 4-H Council, former Band Booster and Co-Founder of Blackhawk Blessings.

Kris was very dedicated to Springs Valley Community Schools and all of her students.

She enjoyed cheering on IU Men and Women’s Basketball and was heavily involved with her children in all of their activities.

She is survived by:

Father – Gilbert “Gib” Hudson of Paoli, Indiana

Husband – Damon Tarr of Paoli, Indiana

Son – Reed Tarr of Paoli, Indiana

Daughter – Kyla Tarr of Paoli, Indiana

Sister – Rita Shourds (Gary) of Floyds Knobs, Indiana

FUNERAL CEREMONY
A Funeral Ceremony will be conducted by Pastor Mike Newland on Saturday, December 23rd, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the 
Springs Valley High School Auditorium with burial to follow at Ames Chapel Cemetery.

VISITATION
Visitation for friends will be on Friday, December 22nd, 2023 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Springs Valley High School Auditorium and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at Springs Valley High School Auditorium.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Blackhawk Blessings, c/o Orange County Community Foundation, 1075 N. Sandy Hook Road, Suite 2, Paoli, IN 47454.
