Kevin R. “Vally” Begle, 56, Huntingburg
Kevin R. “Vally” Begle, 56, passed away 10:12 a.m. EST on Thursday, October 15 at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville.
Kevin was born in Huntingburg on November 23, 1963, to Donnie and Sandy Begle of Ferdinand. His red hair and outgoing personality quickly drew comparisons to his Uncle Valentine “Vally” Begle and the nickname stuck.
Kevin was a member of the Forest Park High School class of 1983. He left school early to begin his working career. He worked in several factories over the years including JOFCO, Jasper Cabinet, Masterbrand, Styline, and ER Carpenter. Kevin loved operating a fork lift and continued working mostly in furniture factories until his health no longer allowed him to work. He had many supervisors over the years and he had nothing but great things to say about his last boss.
Kevin never shied away from conflict, always feeling it was his duty to protect the most vulnerable, and he enjoyed it. Kevin carried this fearless attitude into his battle with the many health conditions he faced over the last years of his life. Just as he had done for most of his life, Kevin fought this battle his way.
Kevin was a member of the Sons of the Legion in Ferdinand. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheeling, camping, telling stories with his friends, and riding motorcycles. He also enjoyed issuing helpful instructions to his brothers, along with no end of grief when his Colts beat the Texans.
Preceded in death by his father, Donnie, Kevin is survived by his mother, Sandy, brothers Brian and Darin, sister-in-law Eileen, nieces Bridgette, Erin, and Kate, beloved Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and many, many good friends.
A visitation will take place at the Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand on Wednesday October 21 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday October 22 at St. Ferdinand Church, Christ the King Parish, with burial in St. Ferdinand Cemetery.
