Karen Emilyn Weyer, age 74, of Huntingburg
Karen Emilyn Weyer, age 74, of Huntingburg, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
She was born October 13, 1946, in Huntingburg to Emil and Almeda (Himsel) Stamm. Karen was a graduate of Dubois High School and attended Oakland City College. She married Jim Weyer on November 13, 1971. In 1979 she co-founded BRATCO, Inc. She loved spending time with her family, traveling, hunting seashells on the shores of Florida, watching mysteries and tending to her flowers. Karen was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, the Pacers, Indianapolis Colts, and professional tennis. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Marge Normann.
Karen is survived by her husband, Jim Weyer of Huntingburg; children, Jamie (fiance’ Evan Walker) Moss of Holland, Brandi (companion Josh Calabrese) Weyer of Bloomington, Bart and Angie Weyer of Huntingburg, Jim and Holly Weyer of Florida, and Mike and Gina Weyer of Jasper; grandchildren, Cheyenne and Jared Tempel of Newburgh, Barbara (companion Josh Van Nevel) Moss of Arizona, Charlotte Moss of Holland, Chris and Courtney Weyer of Santa Claus, Julie Weyer of Louisville, Noelle Weyer of Florida, Ian Weyer of Jasper, Cam (companion Annie Hills) Weyer of Evansville; great-grandchildren, Alexander “Xander” and Amelia Weyer of Santa Claus.
Friends may call for public visitation from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 prior to the private funeral service. Please note: Dubois County is in a Covid red zone and limiting the number of people in the building to 25 at one time.
Private funeral services for Karen Weyer will be held following the visitation, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Fr. Biju Thomas will officiate at the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Dubois County Community Foundation or St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
