Judith Bruner, 81, of Washington

She was born March 17, 1943 in Bedford, Indiana to the late Bernard and Audrey (Waggoner) Savvage. Judy married Paul R. Bruner on December 26, 1987 and he preceded her in death on January 17, 2023. Judy spent the majority of her teaching career at Loogootee Elementary West. She took great pride in teaching Special Education. After her retirement she substituted for many years. She was a member of the Loogootee Methodist Church and Tri Kappa Loogootee-Shoals Delta Tau Chapter. Judy loved making jewelry, interior decorating, gardening and caring for her flowers. 

Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Paul R. Bruner; parents, Bernard and Audrey Savage; sister, Barbara Wineinger; step-son, Paul Joseph Bruner. She is survived by her cousin, Mary Rose (Delmar) Holland; brother-in-law, Darrel Wineinger; stepchildren, Deborah McKibben of Washington, Shirley (John) Stangle of Vincennes, David Bruner of Vincennes and Amy (Steve) Caurro of South Bend; 9 step- grandchildren, 13 step-great grandchildren and 1 step-great great grandchild. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2024 at the Loogootee Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Goodwill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, April 12, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Martin County Humane Society or the Loogootee Methodist Church.
