Josephine C. Jochem, age 84, of Jasper

Josephine C. Jochem, age 84, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 4:10 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2019, in the Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper, Indiana.

Josephine was born in Jasper, Indiana, on July 11, 1934, to Adam and Amelia (Krodel) Bauer. She married Kenneth L. Jochem on April 24, 1965, in St. Henry Catholic Church in St. Henry, Indiana. He preceded her in death on March 3, 2018.

She was a 1952 graduate of Jasper High School.

Josephine worked at the Jasper Glove Factory, and then was a telephone operator at the telephone company in Jasper, and then retired from Indiana Furniture.

She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Jasper, Indiana.

She enjoyed bowling and was the member of a bowling league, was an avid Jasper Wildcat fan, attending almost every sporting event with her husband, and enjoyed travelling with her husband.

Surviving are one brother, Melvin (Judy) Bauer, Jasper, IN, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death besides her husband are one sister, Louise Bleemel, and four brothers, Russell, Ralph, Harold and Othmar Bauer.

A funeral service for Josephine C. Jochem will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 2019, at Trinity United Church of Christ, in Jasper, Indiana, with entombment to follow in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum in Jasper, Indiana. Pastor Jane Hillman will officiate.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at the church on Monday.
