John J. McGrath, 92, of Loogootee

He was born February 10, 1930, in Washington, Indiana to the late Rowan and Clara Ellen (Light) McGrath. John was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association, the American Legion – Post 120 and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He enjoyed boating and fishing. 

John loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Carolyn S. McGrath; grandson, Brian Walczak; parents, Rowan and Clara Ellen McGrath; sisters, Jean (Al) Springer, Mary Ethel (Howard) Barber and Bette McGrath. 

John is survived by his children, Jacquelyn F. Richardville, James R. (Dawn A.) McGrath, James L. Beasley, John K. (Shirley) McGrath, Jerry D. Beasley, Joe T. Beasley, and Susan E. (Cynthia) McGrath; 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; brother, Jude McGrath. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee, officiated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery – Barr Township.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
