John Henry Kemp, 86, of Loogootee

He was born March 5, 1938 in Loogootee, Indiana to the late Peter and Mary (Richer) Kemp. 

John married Ida Mae Wagler on October 19, 1958 and she survives. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. 

John was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Mary Kemp; daughter, Betty Jean Raber; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; siblings, Joseph (Barbara) Kemp, Leroy (Mary Jane) Kemp, and Peter Kemp Jr.; sister-in-law, Naomi Kemp. 

He is survived by his wife, Ida Mae Kemp; children, Delbert Ray (Ruth Ann) Kemp, Lonnie (Lydia Catherine) Kemp, Sharon (Roman) Raber, Mary Catherine (Ivan Lee) Knepp, Marvin (Delilah Jean) Kemp, David Lee (Barbara Jean) Kemp, John Eldon (Mary Jean) Kemp, Lester (Bonita Rose) Kemp, and Ernest Eugene Kemp; son-in-law, Owen Raber; 54 grandchildren, 113 great-grandchildren, and 2 foster grandchildren; siblings, Lydia Ann (Richard) Wittmer, Amos (Delilah) Kemp, Katie (Alva) Yoder, Raymond (Catherine) Kemp, Wilma (Ira) Wagler, Mary Margaret (Sam) Wagler, and Darrell (Marilyn) Kemp; sister-in-law, Delilah Kemp. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at the Daviess County Produce Building in Montgomery, Indiana. Burial will follow in Stoll Cemetery. A visitation will be held Sunday, April 28, 2024 beginning at 5:00 p.m. and will continue until the time of service at the Daviess County Produce Building.
