James S. Hall, 85, of French Lick
James S. Hall, 85, of French Lick, Indiana, entered into eternal rest on May 11th, 2021 at his residence.
He was born in Dubois County, Indiana on November 20th, 1935 to Sidney E. and Grace (Qualkenbush) Hall.
Jim married his high school sweetheart, Sue Kellams on June 4th, 1954 and she survives.
He was preceded in death by his Parents; (4) Brothers – Jim’s twin, John Edward in infancy, Bud, Sam, and
Robert Hall; (3) Sisters – Roberta Elkins, Bernice Hinesley and Velma Hall; and daughter-in-law Dani Hall.
Jim was a 1953 graduate of French Lick High School and a member of Local #741 Laborers Union for 65 years.
He had worked for Stone City Construction and Oxley Construction road construction companies for over 40 years.
Jim and Sue met in high school on a double date with other people. Jim tells the story as seeing Sue’s smile in the rearview mirror and being smitten immediately and they were inseparable for the next 70 years. Together they built a wonderful life for their family and opened their home to countless friends. Nothing was more important to Jim than family and he loved having all the children and grandchildren return to “the homestead.” Jim’s kids especially remember lots of Rook on Saturday nights, having to move cattle, mushroom hunting, and getting to basketball games no matter how deep the snow was. He also enjoyed raising cattle and working on the family farm.
Jim is survived by:
