James Lee Roach, age 82, of West Baden Springs

James Lee Roach, age 82, of West Baden Springs, Indiana entered into eternal rest October 20th, 2021 at IU Health Bedford Hospital in Bedford, Indiana.

He was born in Paoli, Indiana on February 5th, 1940 to Glenwood and Alva Marie (Tuell) Roach.

Jim married Shirley McAfee on November 14th, 1959 and she preceded him in death on April 8th, 2021.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, (1) Great-Great Granddaughter – Hannah Elizabeth Roach, Son-in-law – Dave Atchison; (5) Brothers – Joe Hobson, Johnny Roach, Rex Roach, Bobby Dean Roach, Tracy Roach; and (1) Sister – Janet Sue White.

Jim enjoyed woodworking, fishing, gardening, travelling and flying his airplane. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was an over-the-road truck driver for B & L Trucking out of Orleans for over 30 years. He and his wife had also previously owned an appliance store in West Baden called Jim’s Appliance Repair.

He is survived by:

(1) Daughter - Donna Atchison of Orleans, Indiana

(1) Brother - Mike Roach of French Lick, Indiana

(2) Sisters - Patricia Mattox of Orleans, Indiana
Glenda Farnsley of Sellersburg, Indiana

(2) Aunts - Anna Jane Moore of Orleans, Indiana
Ginny Mackey of Paoli, Indiana

(3) Grandchildren – Ronald Roach, Tiffany Morris and Hallie Roach

(6) Great-Grandchildren – Derek, Lindsay, Leah, and Daniel Roach; Wyatt Morris; and Raylen Alvey.


A Funeral Ceremony will be conducted by Pastor Jason Lindsey and Pastor Thomas Bostic on Tuesday, October 26th, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home with burial to follow in Paoli Community Cemetery.

Friends may call and pay their respects on Monday, October 25th, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, October 26th, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
