James Lee Atkinson, 85, of Bedford

James Lee Atkinson, 85, of Bedford, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at IU Hospice House in Bloomington, Indiana. 

James was born in Paoli, Indiana on March 15, 1936, to Clarence "Hop" and Nellie Cornwell Atkinson. James married Judith Long on May 28, 1960, and she preceded him in death.

James was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Kelly, and Gene Atkinson.

He was a member of the Newton Stewart Lodge #432, Bedford Boat & Sportsman Club, Bedford Eagles Lodge #654, and an avid member of Fisherman & Musician.

James was in the U.S. Air Force and a Korean War Veteran.

He is survived by his son, Patrick Atkinson, of Mitchell, Indiana, two grandsons, Grand Taylor Harl and Ethan Collier.

Cremation was chosen.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., Monday, July 12, 2021, with a Celebration of Life3 to follow at Dillman-Scott Funeral Home located at 226 W. Campbell St., Paoli IN 47454.
