James A. Young. Sr., age 75, of Huntingburg
James A. Young. Sr., age 75, of Huntingburg, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at his residence in Bedford.
He was born October 1, 1945, in Jasper, to John C. and Marie (Buechlein) Young; and married Donna I. Alexander on September 13, 1997, at the Huntingburg Church of the Nazarene. James was a retired over-the-road truck driver for Perkins Trucking and Styline Corporation. He was a member of ABATE; and enjoyed motorcycles, hunting, watching TV and his dogs. He also enjoyed working on vehicles, making homemade wine and taking pride in his yard. James was preceded in death by his first wife, Claudia June Young, who passed away on May 9, 1996; his parents; one stepson, Jeff A. Rottet; and three brothers, Leroy, Charles and Robert Young.
He is survived by his wife, Donna I. Young of Bedford; four children, James A. Young, Jr. of Pike County, Mary (Erik) Bautista Hernandez of Huntingburg, Carl F. Young of Huntingburg and Michael Wayne (partner, Jason Gibson) Young of New Albany; three stepchildren, Tammy Delph of Mitchell, Jeremy Forbes of Henderson, KY and Tisha (Chad) Lind of Colorado; five siblings, Edward (Karen) Young, Janice Mangold and Carolyn Shepard all of Jasper, Edna (Charles) Rust of Evansville and Marilyn (Wilford) Buechler of St. Anthony; by nine grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for James Young, Sr. will be held at 4:00 p.m., E.D.T., on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Burial will take place at Mayo Cemetery near Duff. Pastor Zachary Korff will officiate at the service.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. till 4:00 p.m., on Saturday, the day of the service.
