Helen Kathryn Neukam, age 84, of Birdseye

Helen Kathryn Neukam, age 84, of Birdseye, passed away at 5:35 p.m., on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at Cathedral Health Care Center in Jasper.

She was born January 5, 1937, in Huntingburg, to Omer and Esther (Rohleder) Whaley.  Helen married Carl Edward Neukam on August 14, 1955, in Birdseye; and he preceded her in death on August 30, 2019.  She was self-employed and enjoyed collecting salt & pepper shakers, quilting, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.

Helen is survived by two sons, Dennis Neukam and Daniel (Martha) Neukam both of Birdseye; one sister, Theresia Seitz of Jasper; by two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Helen Neukam will be held at 2:00 p.m., E.D.T., on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Birdseye Cemetery in Birdseye, Indiana.  Minister Kim Allen will officiate at the service.
