Gregory Ivan Sims, age 58, of Shoals

Gregory Ivan Sims, age 58, of Shoals, passed September 24, 2021, at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare in Jasper. He was born June 14, 1963, in Washington, Indiana to George Tony and Sue (Pride) Sims.

He was a 1981 graduate of Shoals High School, was a veteran of the United States Army, was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Shoals VFW, St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shoals and was a Bar Manager at the Shoals VFW.

Surviving relatives include his mother, Sue Sims; sisters, Penny (Greg) Gibbs and Annette Taylor; brother Tony Sims; brother-in-law, Roger Atkison; nieces and nephews, Adam (Allie Frederichs) Atkison, Ryan Atkison, Tyler Gibbs, Trey Gibbs, Tanner Gibbs, Travis (Kaziah) Gibbs, Seth (Courtney) Taylor, Ashley (Cory Spitznagel) Taylor; uncle, Edward Sims and several great nieces and nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded by his father, George Tony Sims; one sister, Debra Atkison; one brother in infancy; grandparents, Jasper Sims, Lillian Hagerty, Alvin and Bonnie Pride; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., October 16th, 2021, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shoals with burial in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
