George Thomas Mudd, 71, of Loogootee

George Thomas Mudd, 71, of Loogootee, passed away November 6, 2021 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville. 

He was born February 8, 1950 in Loogootee, Indiana to the late William Ernest Mudd and Dorothy (Holland) Mudd-Milligan. Tom graduated from St. John’s High School in 1968. He was a lifelong member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee. 

He enjoyed Indy Car Racing, especially the Indy 500. He liked to collect Indian artifacts, riding four-wheelers, being outdoors, and spending time with his granddaughters. Tom was employed by the Martin County White River CO-OP for 47 years and held various positions throughout the years. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, John Mudd; two sisters, Mary Mudd and Linda Early. 

Tom is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jan (Sager) Mudd of Loogootee; two daughters, Amy Gieske and Ashley (Joe) Matthews, both of Loogootee; one son, Aaron (Allyson) Mudd of Loogootee; granddaughters, Adelyn Matthews, Annalise and Amelia Mudd; one brother, Dave (Beth) Milligan of Loogootee; two sisters, Helen (John) Yeadon of Columbus and Sue (Fred) Michaels of Glendale. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee, officiated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 10, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
