Frances A. Kunz, age 95 of Jasper
Frances A. Kunz, age 95 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 8:36 p.m. on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis, IN.
Frances was born on June 28, 1923 in Jasper, IN to Frank and Margaret (Bachman) Schwartzmiller. She married Eugene Kunz on November 15, 1949 in St. Joseph Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on January 24, 2006.
She was a graduate of the Jasper High School Class of 1941.
Frances and her husband Gene owned the former Gerbo Bowling Lanes for 30 years, and she worked as a secretary at the Jasper Desk Company for 17 years.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper and their St. Ann’s Sodality, and she was also a member of the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
She enjoyed bowling, reading, traveling, casinos, playing cards, and spending time with her family and many friends.
Surviving are two daughters, Janet Petersime (Alan) Greenwood, IN, and Susan Stassek
(Butch Hill) Ballwin, MO, four grandchildren, Hannah Lopez, Zach Petersime, Taylor Stassek, and Amanda Miller, and three great grandchildren, Colin, Brenna, and Baylor.
Preceding her in death beside her husband were two sisters, Sally Blessinger and Dorothy Pfau, and one brother, Leo Schwartzmiller.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Frances A. Kunz will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, IN, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time on Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to a favorite charity.
