Emma Lou Woods, age 91, of Holland
Emma Lou Woods, age 91, of Holland, Indiana, passed away at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, October 16, 2020, at the Good Samaritan Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper.
She was born October 1, 1929, in Ozark, Kentucky, to Butler and Ethel (Wells) Kelsay; and married Maurice Curtis Woods on April 8, 1950, in Louisville, Kentucky. She founded Woods Printing in 1971 with her husband, and together they worked there for many years. She was a member of Augustana United Church of Christ in Holland, Order of the Eastern Star Harmony Chapter #273 in Louisville, and the Daughters of the Nile. Emma was an avid golfer and bowler; loved to play cards and work in her yard tending her flowers; and enjoyed traveling and staying in Florida during the winter months. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Curtis Woods, who died on April 1, 2010; by her parents; and seven siblings, Vida Carter, John Vernon Kelsay, Marcella White, James Kelsay, Paul Kelsay, Ruth Johnson and Lerman Kelsay.
She is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, Sharon (David) Springston of Holland and Linda (Stanley) Jones of Rotonda West, Florida; by (4) grandchildren and (5) great-grandchildren.
Private visitation and funeral services will be held at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Augustana Cemetery in Holland. Pastor Debbie Roe will officiate at the service. Memorial contributions can be made to the Maurice C. Woods Memorial Endowment c/o Dubois County Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Association.
