Eldon Louis Dedrick, age 86, of Jasper
Eldon Louis Dedrick, age 86, of Jasper, formerly a resident of Velpen for 45 years, passed away at 2:32 p.m., Tuesday, November 5, 2019, at The Timbers of Jasper.
He was born October 14, 1933, in Pike County, Indiana, to Aaron Lee and Bessie Marie (Grubb) Dedrick. Eldon married Inza Mae Meyer on February 21, 1959, at the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Parsonage in Stendal. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, and later retired from Leeds Selling Tools. Eldon enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with his family, and collecting toy tractors. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Glen, Richard and William Dedrick; and two sisters, Mary Lou Polen and Carolyn Friedman.
He is survived by his wife, Inza Mae Dedrick of Jasper, IN; two daughters, Robin (Gary) Traylor of Velpen, IN and Jennifer (Tony) Blessinger of Jasper, IN; one brother, Frank (Peggy) Dedrick of Jasper, IN; two sisters, Judy Patterson of Jasper, IN and Sharon Kovacs of Bedford, IN; one sister-in-law, Virlee Dedrick of Jasper, IN; by four grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Eldon Louis Dedrick will be held at 2:00 p.m., E.S.T., Friday, November 8, 2019, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery in Stendal with military graveside rites conducted by the Holland American Legion Post #343 Memorial Detail. Pastor Ed Wicks will officiate at the service.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., on Friday, the day of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
