Dwayne G. Walton, 83, of Loogootee

He was born February 22, 1938, in Loogootee, Indiana to the late Alpha and Jenny (Wildman) Walton. Dwayne married Janet Frye on April 27, 1958, and she survives. 

He attended the Hindostan United Methodist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hunting, and watching sports on television. After 38 years as a field inspector, Dwayne retired from Midwestern Engineer, Inc. 

Dwayne was preceded in death by his daughter, Jewel Lynn “Julie” Walton; parents, Alpha and Jenny Walton; siblings, Alpha Jr. (Pauline) Walton, Loren Walton, Dymple (Arnold) Ledgerwood and her 1st husband, Dick Gaither and Laverne (George) Cooley. 

He is survived by his wife, Janet Walton of Loogootee; sons, John (Lorie) Walton of Loogootee and Tom Walton of Shoals; granddaughter, Vanessa (Andrew) Stovall; step- grandsons, Cody (Natasha) McConnell and Garrett (Shelbi) McConnell; 6 great- grandchildren; sister-in-law, Margie Walton of Loogootee. 

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Goodwill Cemetery in Loogootee. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
