Douglas Anthony “Tony” Yarnell, 65, of Loogootee
Douglas Anthony “Tony” Yarnell, 65, of Loogootee, passed away on Saturday,
June 22, 2024.
He was born February 2, 1959 in Bedford, Indiana to Teddy and Judy (Greene)
Yarnell.
Tony graduated from Loogootee High School class of 1977 and attended Drexel
University in Pennsylvania and Pace University in New York. He served in the
United States Coast Guard for eight years as an electrical technician.
He was employed by Huntington Ingalls Industries, supporting the Department of
the Navy Integrated Training Program.
Tony was a member of the La-Or-Ma Shrine Club and the Shriner’s International.
He also was a member of the White River Mason Lodge – Post 332, where he was
a Master Mason and a 32 nd degree with the Scottish Rite and a York Rite. Tony
also was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, American Legion –
Post 120, Knights of Columbus – Council 732 and Midwest Willys Jeep Club.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Kay Yarnell; paternal grandparents, Max
and Thelma Yarnell and maternal grandparents, Dale and Mary Ann Greene.
Tony is survived by his children, Mason Yarnell and Kerri Kramer; parents, Ted
and Judy Yarnell; sister, Karen (Jerry) Rumple; partner, Connie Walker;
grandchildren, Isla Yarnell, Feryn Yarnell, Violet Yarnell, Thomas Kramer and
Henry Kramer; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at
10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in
Loogootee. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 28, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Blake
Funeral Home in Loogootee and Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45
a.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Murat Shrine
Building Fund.
