Dorothy E. “Dottie” Keller, age 86 of Jasper

Dorothy E. “Dottie” Keller, age 86 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 7:47 pm on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Cathedral Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana.  

Dottie was born in Huntingburg, Indiana on October 11, 1935 to Ernest and Frances (Sollman) Rademacher.  She married Kenneth Keller on April 28, 1956 in Fort Riley Kansas.  He preceded her in death on June 18, 2014.  

Dottie retired from Memorial Hospital in Jasper, where she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for twenty years.  

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, where she served as a Eucharist Minister and on Stephens Ministry for the nursing homes in the area.   She was also a member of their St. Ann’s Sodality and the Jasper Circle of the Daughters of Isabella.   She was a charter member of the Psi Iota Si Sorority and a member of the Jasper Art Guild.  

She enjoyed painting, sewing, cooking, going to area nursing homes and playing the piano, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.   

Surviving are three daughters, Becky Mehringer (Sylvan), Jasper, Chris Schnell, Ireland, and Angie Buffenbarger (Mark), Velpen, three sons, Mike Keller (Shannon), Columbus, IN, Dave Keller (Janet), Newburgh, IN, and Al Keller (Sheri), Jasper, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, and one sister, Ruth Klee, Tucson, AZ. 

Preceding her in death beside her husband were two sisters, Mary Wilson and Ruby Rademacher, and two brothers, Harold Rademacher and Kenneth Rademacher, who died in infancy.   

A Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy E. “Dottie” Keller will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, January 24, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with entombment to follow in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum in Jasper. 

A visitation will be held from 9 am until 11am on Monday, January 24, 2022 at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana.
