Dorothy Ann Flynn, 90, of Loogootee,

She was born July 4, 1929 in Montgomery, Indiana to the late Henry and Myrtle (Johnson) McDonald. Dorothy married James L. Flynn on September 17, 1949 and he preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Montgomery High School. She was a past volunteer at the Loogootee Nursing Center. She was a member of the K of C Ladies Auxiliary and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, where she was a eucharist minister and on the funeral dinner committee. 

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Flynn on November 4, 1990; parents, Henry and Myrtle (Johnson) McDonald; brothers, William, Leo, Leon, Bernard, Harold and Kenneth McDonald; sister, Betty Herendon; half- sisters, Bernice Downey, Sylvia Welber and Catherine Downing; half-brother, Lennie McDonald. She is survived by her children, Danny (Donna) Flynn, Barbara (John) Stoll, Thomas Flynn, Diana Burch (Kevin O’Conner), Debra Dills (Mike Meade) and Sharon (Mark) Sherer, all of Loogootee; 15 grandchildren and 22 great- grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren, 14 step-great-grandchildren and 2 step-great- great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2019 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Vincent De Paul.
