Donna Jean Harris, age 73, of Huntingburg

Donna Jean Harris, age 73, of Huntingburg, passed away at 9:23 a.m., on Monday, November 18, 2024, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

She was born August 9, 1951, in Huntingburg, Indiana, to Harold Elmore and Rosalie (Bates) Sunderman; and married Philip M. Harris on May 10, 1974, in Huntingburg.  Donna graduated as Valedictorian of Huntingburg High School’s Class of 1969; and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Oakland City University in 1973 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree.  She worked as a bank teller for Freedom Bank in Jasper, where she retired in 2016.  Donna enjoyed socializing with friends; sewing; doting over her beloved dog and constant side-kick, “Tess”; and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren who meant the world to her.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Harris, who passed away on November 17, 2015; her parents; and one brother, Steven Sunderman.

She is survived by three daughters, Angela (Steven) Fleck of Indianapolis, Ind., Stephanie (Shawn) McNabb of Huntingburg, Ind. and Kristina (David) Kendall of Kenosha, Wisconsin; one brother, Harold Sunderman, Jr. of Dale, Ind.; five grandchildren, Alexis (Ethan) Bowers, Peyton King, Austin Schlachter, Bethanie Needhamer and Emma Kendall; by one great-grandchild, Raven Orange, and a second great-grandchild on the way.

Funeral services for Donna Jean Harris will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.S.T., on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Buffaloville Cemetery in Buffaloville, Indiana.  Minister Jacob Keeling will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home from 3:00-8:00 p.m., on Wednesday, November 20th; and also from 9:00-10:00 a.m., Thursday, the morning of the service.  Condolences may be shared online at:  www.nassandson.com
