Dolores M. Kost, 86
Dolores M. Kost, 86, passed away in the afternoon hours of Sunday, July 4 th , 2021 in New Albany,
Indiana.
She was born on September 16 th , 1934 in Ramsey, Indiana to the late Mr. John Ray Hardman
and Viola Sirene Howerton Hardman. Dolores was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and
attended the First Baptist Church in New Albany.
For many years, she worked in marketing for Thomas
Industries, a lighting fixture company in Louisville, KY., but some would argue that her true vocation was
shopping.
Dolores was a style icon. She followed all the trends and always had a pair of shoes for the occasion. A
firecracker to say the least, she kept folks laughing and entertained, even having her doctors in stitches.
Dolores would say what she meant and had several colorful turns of phrase to do so.
She loved holidays and decorations, was at her best when she was hosting a party like one of her
legendary Kentucky Derby Parties, loved to travel, camp, and was the type that could just pick up and go
on an adventure on a whim. She also fiercely loved her family, took wonderful care of them, and
instilled in them her own hard work ethic. Dolores was a dynamic character that did things her way to
the very last.
Dolores is preceded in death by; father, John Ray Hardman; mother, Viola Sirene Howerton Hardman;
